Although compared with other modern wide-body airliners, the Airbus A380 is not favored by many airlines due to its low efficiency, but it is still popular with many passengers around the world. The elegant and spacious interior of this aircraft is one of the reasons why travelers like to take this super-large passenger aircraft. This category is represented by the cocktail bar located on the upper deck. However, over the years, those approaching the counter will notice the overhead bins above.

The cocktail bar is the core feature of the A380 cabin. Why do you need to place overhead lockers above it? Well, bars are not always the mainstay now. Well, as the largest customer of the A380, Emirates plays an indispensable role in the design of the four-wheel jet engine, but it is not certain whether the standard will succeed.

The Emirates airline has more than 100 A380s and is still accepting deliveries recently. The airline’s leadership revealed that in the early days of the plan, it decided to keep overhead storage so that the bar can be quickly converted to business class in case it becomes less popular.

"Although we spent a lot of time and money designing the bar and gilding the lily a bit, there is still a certain degree of concern about how it works. We actually don't think that many people will use it, but we are wrong. That's it!" Emirates President Tim Clark told the executive traveler.

"I designed a bar counter on the upper deck at the rear of the plane. My understanding is that if it doesn't work, we can remove it within 96 hours and add 8 more business class seats."

Since its first launch, the bar has undergone several renovations. A major shift took place in 2017. At that time it was updated with a lighter setting.

A social seating layout was implemented, and seats were created to represent the seats in a private yacht. In addition, automatic lighting dimmers have been implemented to improve the atmosphere in the cabin, and wood grain and ivory patterns have also been redesigned.

At the Dubai Air Show this week, Simple Flying boarded the most modern A380 cabin. It is worth noting that the bar area is more open, and the old overhead lockers have given way to a more spacious feel.

Emirates is still receiving A380 deliveries. In addition, nearly 50 of its units are in service. We can expect the airline to continue to operate this type at least for the remainder of this decade. Therefore, there is still plenty of time to enjoy this famous bar.
