A FAMILY-run cafe has opened in Marlow and is already proving to be 'popular with customers'.

Chives has been in Bourne End for almost 20 years but has now taken over the unit in Marlow Globe Business Park having opened to the public on Monday, October 3.

The cafe/deli in Fieldhouse Way is run by husband and wife duo Graham and Vicky Everitt, who have a history of working in the hospitality industry.

Graham gave up his coorporate job in sales 10 years ago when he bought Chives in Bourne End.

He said: "It's been very popular and busy with lots of people walking in already. In Bourne End we saw maybe 80 to 100 a day, now we're seeing 200 to 250 so the footfall is better.

"Marlow is a much better location and the parking is better too."

The cafe serves freshly made to order baguettes with a variety of fillings.

The 50-year-old said: "We're open Monday to Friday 7am to 4pm serving bottomless coffee, fresh homemade cakes and sandwiches with a counter full of ingredients. Our motto is you can have whatever weird filling as unique as you are."

The couple from Marlow hope the cafe will intice people who work from home to enjoy a slice of cake or some food.

There's free Wifi inside too which can accommodate this.

As well as providing cafe food, Chives can cater for up to 500 people for outside events, private dining and prepare hog roasts too.
