Singapore-SensorFlow Pte Ltd, a Singapore-based prop technology start-up company, has launched the SmartAlloc system, which is a pioneering data-driven platform that can help reduce energy consumption by allocating the most energy to guest reservations-efficient The room also considers the guest’s room preference. The solution is now available for hotels in Southeast Asia and Europe.

During the COVID pandemic, the tourism and hotel industries were severely affected, and hotel occupancy rates were extremely low. This created an opportunity for SensorFlow to develop a system to help hotels improve energy efficiency during these periods.

Saikrishnan Ranganathan, CEO and co-founder of SensorFlow Pte Ltd, said: “We have found that by assigning guest reservations to more energy-efficient rooms in the hotel’s HVAC system, we can reduce energy consumption by an additional 30%.

SensorFlow's Smart Room Allocation (SmartAlloc) solution provides an energy-efficient room allocation plan based on known arrivals and departures, which uses information gathered from SensorFlow's Smart Room Energy Management (SmartREM) solution. SmartAlloc ensures the use of the least number or the most efficient HVAC compressors and optimizes the compressor load to maximize the utilization rate in the most energy-saving state. This is especially useful when the occupancy rate is low, as the most efficient room can be easily allocated, thereby reducing the hotel's energy consumption.

In order to develop SmartAlloc, SensorFlow worked with existing customers who have installed a smart room energy management system to test and analyze the results of the solution by monitoring the energy consumption and waste of individual rooms. The solution shows that the hotel can save up to 25% of energy. Energy is at 30% occupancy level. This will help the hotel reduce its carbon footprint, improve sustainability and help its operations team improve work efficiency. SmartAlloc is also applying for a patent.

SensorFlow's Smart Room Allocation (SmartAlloc) solution is an additional function of SensorFlow's Smart Room Energy Management (SmartREM) solution. These two solutions complement each other by creating an overall energy management system, aiming to improve the hotel's energy efficiency, increase its operational productivity, and make the hotel more sustainable during periods of high occupancy and low occupancy.

COP26 is the United Nations Climate Change Conference held in the United Kingdom this year. It joins forces with civil society, companies and people on the frontline of climate change to formulate climate action. These goals are very ambitious. The goal is to achieve important emission reduction targets by 2030, and the more ambitious goal is to achieve net zero emissions by 2050.

This is a goal that can only be achieved through collective efforts, and SensorFlow is at the forefront of sustainability and emission reduction.

Thanks to the pay-as-you-go model, each hotel can install SensorFlow's technology without any upfront costs. This allows hotels to quickly and easily access SensorFlow's solutions without having to sign up for large capital expenditure costs, and start saving immediately. The monthly payment includes the installation and implementation of the solution, including hardware, software, and support services.

After installation, hotels can immediately start saving up to 50% in guest room HVAC costs.

SensorFlow Pte Ltd is an award-winning Singapore prop technology start-up company that combines smart wireless IoT solutions and the use of artificial intelligence to help buildings monitor, analyze and automate energy consumption to improve productivity, sustainability and energy efficient. It was founded in 2016 by Saikrishnan Ranganathan and Max Pagel to meet the urgent global demand for energy optimization.

In addition to heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) management, SensorFlow's solutions also provide real-time data insights on energy consumption, occupancy trends, and guest behavior. These can be used to enhance the overall customer experience and improve management at the property and portfolio level, as construction managers receive timely alerts about malfunctioning equipment. Room service routes can also be optimized in real time based on room occupancy data.

SensorFlow's retrofit solution includes sensors and proprietary networks, which can be installed quickly and easily in just 5 minutes per room without interrupting operations. Its "pay as you go" payment model means that the hotel does not need to pay upfront. The hotel is expected to save up to 30% of total energy and up to 40% of maintenance costs.
