Big enough for a family, this apartment in Midwood offers large rooms, the design features of its era and a surprise. The two-bedroom, two-bath unit is located on the fourth floor of 1350 Ocean Parkway, known as Parkway Terrace.

Built in 1949, according to the certificate of occupancy, the 65-unit co-op has six stories of pale golden brick, a streamlined entrance with plate glass and chrome trim, and terraces on its corners.

No. 4E has pale hardwood floors, white walls and windows on two exposures. Its large foyer has two coat closets and space for a home office or library.

The 20-foot-long living room can fit both lounging and dining. An adjacent raised dining platform with a curving metal railing leads to the kitchen. The latter is builder grade with a tile floor and plenty of wood cabinets and counter space but no dishwasher.

A small hall with a linen closet leads to the bedrooms; the biggest one is slightly larger than the living room, according to the floor plan, with windows on two walls. The smaller one is still good size and has two closets.

A bathroom off the hall has a tub and vintage pink tile with a black border. A second bathroom with matching tile is en suite to the biggest bedroom — but it’s not original to the apartment.

It was created by reversing the door to the shower, once part of the hall bathroom, an original floor plan for the apartment house shows. An adjacent closet, one of two in the big bedroom, became a matching powder room.

The building, which faces the Ocean Parkway biking and walking path, has an on-site super and a waiting list for parking, which costs $125 a month. Sublets are permitted after one year, and there is no flip tax, according to the listing, from Margaret Calarco of Douglas Elliman.

The monthly maintenance fee for this unit is $1,182.72, which is asking $469,000. What do you think?
