The store is open to the public today.

This is the eighth convenience store opened by the e-commerce giant in the UK that uses Just Walk Out Shopping technology, the first of its kind in Amazon Go products in the United States.

The other seven are located in Camden, Ealing, Wembley Park, White City, Canary Wharf, Dalston and Dunsin. Business hours are from 7:00 am to 11:00 pm, 7 days a week.

Customers use the Amazon app to enter and put away their phones and buy what they need. At the end of the visit, they can go to the exit without queuing or checking out.

They can shop from the "by Amazon" food brand, or use the Amazon Hub counter to pick up or return the goods purchased on Amazon's UK website.

The Greater London area plans to open further new stores, and there are reports that Bankside may be the next one.

The Holborn store is close to Tesco's first free checkout service on the street.

The product called GetGo made its debut last month.

CEO Ken Murphy said earlier this year: “We have installed a system in the Express store in Welwyn Garden City (headquarters), and we are expanding it to another store for inspections in a more urbanized environment. "

He added: "It's been open for about a year and it's running very well... One of the great joys of machine learning is that it is constantly improving, so we are confident that it will be placed in another store with higher traffic."

Tesco has deployed the Amazon Just Walk Out product powered by Trigo in Holborn.

Using artificial intelligence and computer vision technology, the solution enables shoppers to walk into the store, sign in via a QR code, select the item to buy, and then go out.

Kevin Tindall, managing director of Tesco Convenience, said last month: "We are always looking for ways to improve the shopping experience. Our latest innovations provide seamless checkout for customers on the go, helping them save more time."

"This is currently a trial in a store, but we look forward to seeing how our customers respond."

Sainsbury's plans to open a cashierless store in High Holborn later this month, using Amazon's Just Walk Out technology.

This will make it the first known customer of the technology outside of the United States.

The SmartShop Pick & Go location is currently open to Sainsbury employees.
