Following the enhanced version in 2018, G90 has undergone a comprehensive facelift for the first time in three years, representing the most elegant interpretation of the brand's luxury design identity. This model introduces a bold new direction, with advanced assistance functions that make driving easier, and various new technologies to enhance the passenger journey.

The front of the G90 includes a new Crest grille and stylish double-row headlights with a design similar to the brand's logo. The front Crest grille raises the high-end image of the model to a new level through its layered architecture design, which is composed of two G-Matrix patterns superimposed to create a 3D effect.

The double-row headlights on both sides of the grille are the thinnest in the Genesis model. By crossing the lens of the DRL (Daytime Running Light) with the turn signal, high beam and low beam driven by MLA (Micro Lens Array) technology, the slim design of the headlight is possible. In particular, the low beam combines approximately 200 miniature optical lenses per module with ultra-precision technology. The resulting lens is smaller than the lens of a traditional projection lamp, but provides the same level of light intensity-further enhancing the G90's high-tech image.

The status of the G90 as a flagship sedan is further strengthened by the clamshell hood. [1] The clamshell hood design uses a single panel, which combines the hood and the fender to eliminate the gap between the panels, giving the G90 a unique and stylish design. In addition, the Guilloché[2] logo is nearly 80% thinner than the previous version, adding a finishing touch to grades and distinctions.

Viewed from the side, the parabolic design starts from the hood and flows seamlessly to the trunk along the bottom of the window. The sporty power lines on the fenders around the wheels once again highlight the vehicle's exquisite and spacious body, highlighting its power and vitality.

The DLO adjacent to the first and second rows of the vehicle is coordinated by a thick C-pillar. This allows passengers in the second row to enjoy an open atmosphere and privacy at the same time.

At the rear of the vehicle, as a key element of the Genesis design language, the double-row rear combination lights are elongated together with the trunk, giving the model a strong and balanced image, and the Genesis letter logo is succinctly positioned between them.

Functional elements such as license plates, various sensors and reversing lights have been reduced to complete the concise image of the G90 rear design.

The internal design of the G90 is designed to satisfy customers who drive themselves and are driven by drivers.

The driver's seat brings to life the interior design spirit of Genesis's white space beauty, and harmoniously combines the feeling of high-tech equipment and new technology with the luxurious details brought by simulation sensitivity.

The eye-catching feature is the slender vent in the front of the vehicle, which combines the wing-like shape and the brand’s next-generation infotainment system-Connected Car Integrated Cockpit (ccIC)-which integrates the instrument panel and navigation into the panoramic display. Consolidate the high-tech appearance.

The center console carefully uses glass and aluminum materials to express high-end analog sensitivity. In addition, the electronic dial-type Shift-By-Wire (SBW) component and the dial-type central control panel (CCP) are distinguished so that the driver can intuitively distinguish them while driving. In particular, when the driver changes gears, SBW uses vibration to prevent misoperation.

In addition, the two panoramic sunroofs located above the first and second rows can be individually controlled. In addition, the ambient lighting installed on the left and right ends of the sunroof is linked with other ambient lighting navigation in the car.

The G90's rear seats use the highest quality materials to ensure that the flagship sedan provides comfort and convenience for passengers. The left and right seats in the second row can be tilted separately to improve passenger comfort. G90 also provides customers with a new experience through well-designed storage spaces, such as the independent magazine and book trays in the second row of the C-pillar area.

The G90's central instrument panel, the backrest of the front seat and the door trim of each seat have adopted a new processing method, so new decorations are possible. G90's use of newspaper crown wood and newspaper stripe wood is a good example of Genesis's sustainable luxury concept. The material is made using a new method to minimize its impact on the environment by reprocessing waste paper in daily life, including newspapers.

Used here for the first time in a Genesis vehicle, the metal inlay decoration is derived from the details of the traditional Korean "sanggam[3]" (or "inlay") process technology. The decoration maximizes the body shape of the vehicle by embedding two lines and G matrix patterns on real metal, ash and forged carbon surfaces.

G90 will provide 12 colors to choose from in the Korean domestic market. New colors such as Halla Mountain Green, Capri Blue, Bariloche Brown, Valencia Gold, and Maui Black are exclusive to G90. This model will also be available in Makalu Grey, Vick Black, Tasman Blue, Savile Silver, Uyuni White, Makalu Grey Matte and Verbier White. In particular, Halla Mountain Green is named after the shield-shaped volcano Halla Mountain on Jeju Island in South Korea. This decision reflects the brand’s pride in its unique Korean identity.

The car also offers a variety of interior colors. There are five combinations for the Korean domestic market: Obsidian Black/Monochrome, Bordeaux Brown/Obsidian Black, Glacier White/Urban Brown, Modern Gray/Galaxy Black, and Dune Beige /Velvet burgundy two-tone.

The G90 is equipped with a 3.5-liter gasoline turbocharged engine and an eight-speed automatic transmission. More detailed information on engine performance for the North American market will be provided before launch.

In order to support the powerful engine power and torque, while ensuring efficient cooling of the brake discs, G90 uses a variety of cooling mechanisms, including bottom cover guide holes, dust cover holes and wheel protection cooling blades.

It also has a new braking mode "driver", allowing the driver to control the braking force. It is one of the three built-in braking modes that drivers can use according to their preferences and driving conditions.

Genesis equips G90 with new suspension technology, which can provide smoother driving and better handling performance. It also includes the preview electronic control suspension (Preview-ECS) as a basic function, which optimizes suspension control by using the front camera to recognize road conditions and provides a smooth riding experience in any driving environment.

In order to increase driving stability, the G90 is equipped with a multi-chamber air suspension that can change the air pressure in the air spring. Three settings are provided according to driving conditions. When driving at high speeds, the air suspension system reduces the height of the vehicle, reduces wind resistance, improves fuel efficiency, and ultimately provides a more stable driving experience. When driving on rough or uneven roads, this function can increase the height of the car to protect its chassis and reduce road vibration. No matter how the weight of passengers or luggage changes, the height of the vehicle can be maintained at a certain level. This can increase the stability while getting a more comfortable ride experience.

In addition, using sensors, the car can raise the front wheels when descending steep slopes. This provides a stronger suspension to prevent damage caused by contact between the flat road and the sloped rear landing gear. When driving on rough roads, this function increases the height of the front and rear wheels of the car by 25 mm (0.98 inches) to protect the chassis from contacting the road and ensure a stable driving experience.

The Rear Wheel Steering System (RWS) on the G90 can steer the rear wheels up to 4 degrees in reverse phase at low speeds (moving in the opposite direction to the front wheels), and up to 2 degrees at high speeds. -phase (move them in the same direction as the front wheels).

This makes it easier to maneuver in tight spaces, with fewer corrections, and makes the turning radius of the G90 similar to that of a mid-size car. It can also improve turning stability and enable the vehicle to move flexibly when changing lanes or avoiding obstacles at medium and high speeds.

The G90 has the quietest driving experience in Genesis to date, providing the interior tranquility that drivers expect from a luxury car. It is equipped with the brand's most advanced noise reduction ANC-R (active noise reduction road) system, which detects noise from the road surface and then sends out reversed sound through the speaker to eliminate it. The result is a quieter ride, which improves the driving experience of the G90.

To ensure that every seat in the car is equally quiet and luxurious, Genesis measured and analyzed the sound sensitivity of each seat, and customized the noise reduction function accordingly. Some parts of the system are reinforced with special materials to strengthen the body, while key parts of the car use various sound-absorbing materials.

At the same time, the entire vehicle uses laminated glass, including the quarter glass of the second row of doors, so that the G90 can achieve maximum quietness.

Genesis provides G90 with a variety of cutting-edge convenience technologies, from the moment customers get on the car to the moment they get off at their destination, providing a brand new automated experience.

When the driver uses the smart key to approach the G90, the automatic flushing door handle will pop out to welcome the driver. Once the driver enters the vehicle, the EasyClose system closes the door, so passengers do not need to reach out and grab the door. This function can be activated by pressing buttons located in many easily accessible locations, including the center console in the first row, the armrests in the second row, and the door trims in both rows.

In addition, the first-row driver's seat doors can be set to close automatically when the brake pedal is used. When passengers get off the car, they can lightly touch the outer door handle switch or press the lock button on the remote control to close the door.

The fingerprint authentication system in the G90 center console enables keyless engine starting and driving. In addition, it will automatically load the driver's personal settings and can be used as an authentication method in valet mode.

The G90 is equipped with a digital key 2. When the customer's smartphone is nearby, the customer only needs to touch the door handle to enter and start the vehicle. It also has a hands-free smart trunk system, which automatically opens the trunk when the driver or passenger stands near the sensor located at the rear of the trunk for three seconds. (You can find a list of smartphone models with this feature on the Genesis homepage and the smartphone manufacturer's website). The update of Genesis Digital Key 2 will be provided over the air.

The main electronic systems inside the G90 also provide over-the-air (OTA) software updates, such as the navigation system, digital instrument cluster, head-up display (HUD), brakes, steering wheel, suspension, airbags, and ADAS (advanced driver assistance) systems). This allows drivers to update vehicle software without having to visit a service center, so their vehicles will always maintain the latest features.

Customers can experience the advanced technology and convenience of G90 even when driving and parking. G90 is the first Genesis model with manual detection (HOD) function, which allows the vehicle to accurately detect when the driver is holding the steering wheel. When driving assistance systems such as Highway Driving Assist are activated, HOD will accurately determine whether the driver is holding the steering wheel and issue a warning if necessary.

Parking Collision Assist (PCA) analyzes the surrounding environment of the vehicle, including the rear, front and sides, and warns the driver when there is a risk of collision with pedestrians or objects when parking, and activates the brakes when necessary.

Remote Intelligent Parking Assist (RSPA) based on wide-angle camera supports vertical parking, parallel parking and diagonal parking by identifying parking lines.

G90 provides a variety of functions that highlight the sensitivity of the vehicle, upgrading it from a mere means of transportation to a customizable personal space. Through G90, Genesis demonstrated its vision for the future of mobility.

Genesis equips the vehicle with many intuitive functions, including a virtual venue, mood manager and armrest touch system. "Virtual venue" is a virtual 3D surround sound function. It uses settings such as "Boston Symphony Hall" or "Bang & Olufsen Home" to recreate the sound characteristics of various spaces optimized for specific types of music, and delivers this sound through the impressive Bang & Olufsen 23 speaker system. Virtual Venue monitors the interior through the on-board microphone while creating a signal that reproduces the characteristics of the selected spatial sound field. The system then minimizes and stabilizes the noise in the car based on the speed of the car, while transmitting audio through its 23 speakers.

The G90 is also equipped with Acoustic Lens Technology (ALT), which optimizes sound quality through electric pop-up tweeters located on the left and right sides of the crash pad and ceiling speakers located in the middle of the ceiling between the first and second rows to create a 3D sound experience.

Mood Curator can integrate and control functions such as ambient lighting, sound system, fragrance system (olfactory), massage seats and electric curtains to enhance the mood of passengers. The car provides four different emotional modes, each of which can be customized to obtain a high degree of personalization.

The G90 is also the first model of Genesis to be equipped with a fragrance system, which can spread pleasant smells throughout the car. It offers three different scents: The Driver's Awakening, The Great Outdoors, and my favorite place. They are all provided in replaceable ink cartridges. Up to two ink cartridges can be installed in the upper part of the glove box. The type and intensity of fragrance can be controlled through the infotainment system, rear seat touch and ventilation panel. The smell is automatically pre-selected for different Mood Curator modes, but it can also be adjusted manually.

In order to improve the comfort of the driver and passengers, Genesis equips the G90 with "ergonomic relaxation" seats. There are 10 airbags on the seat back of each seat, and two airbags on the seat cushion, supporting four full-body massage modes of whole body, waist, pelvis and upper body, and three choices of massage time and intensity.

In addition, for a smooth transition when passengers get on and off the car, G90 will exhaust air from the side cushions (lumbar support) and return to its original position after getting on the car. When the driving mode is set to sport mode or driving at a high speed (130 km/h), the side cushions will automatically inflate to increase lateral support.

For passengers in the second row of seats, G90 provides a variety of special features to ensure a comfortable journey. A speaker is installed on the headrest of the driver's seat to emit guidance/warning sounds that only the driver can hear, thereby protecting the rear passengers from unnecessary noise. The VIP seats on the right side of the second row have added leg supports and footrests that support heating/ventilation (intake system) functions, allowing passengers to rest in a more comfortable posture.

The 8-inch armrest touch screen (ATS) located in the second row of the central armrest provides touch-based integrated operation. Passengers can set climate control mode, seat position, massage settings, curtain position and adjust lighting. The touch screen display provides clear guidance and instructions with graphics and animations suitable for each function associated with the buttons.

More information on specifications and deliveries for the North American market will be provided later. Customer deliveries are expected to begin in 2022.
