MBR Overview

Membrane Bioreactor,referred to as MBR water treatment technology.It is a high-efficiency biological wastewater treatment technology that combines bio-technology and membrane technology.As the high-efficiency sewage treatment technology that combines membrane separation technology and biological membrane method,due to the filtration effect of the membrane,the organisms are completely trapped in the bioreactor,realizing the complete separation of hydraulic retention time and SRT,and maintaining a high MLSS in the membrane tank,with strong nitrification ability and high pollutant removal rate.
Membrane bioreactor is a new type of wastewater treatment technology combining high-efficiency membrane separation technology and bio-membrane method.The application of hollow fiber membrane replaces the secondary sedimentation tank in the traditional process for solid-liquid separation,effectively achieving the purpose of mud-water separation.Make full use of the high-efficiency interception effect of the membrane,which can effectively intercept the nitrifying bacteria,completely retained in the bioreactor,ensure the smooth progress of the nitrification reaction,effectively remove the ammonia nitrogen,avoid the loss of sludge,and can intercept the macromolecular organic matter that is difficult to degrade,to extend its residence time in the reactor to maximize decomposition.After applying MBR technology,the removal rate of main pollutants can reach;COD≥93%SS=100%.The suspended solids and turbidity of the effluent are almost zero,the treated water quality is very good and stable,thus to achieve recycling of sewage.

The advantages of MBR integrated device are mainly in:
  1. High removal rate of pollutants,strong resistance to sludge expansion,stable and reliable outlet water quality,and no suspended matter in the outlet water.
  2. The membrane bioreactor realizes the separate control of the reactor sludge age SRT and hydraulic retention time HRT,so the design and operation are greatly simplified.
  3. The mechanical interception of the membrane avoids the loss of microorganisms.The bioreactor can maintain a high sludge concentration,which can increase the volume load,reduce the sludge load.and has a strong impact resistance.
  4. Since the SRT is very long,the bioreactor has played the role of "sludge nitrification tank",thereby significantly reducing the sludge output,the excess sludge output is very low,and the sludge treatment cost is low.
  5. The SRT is prolonged due to the blocking effect of the membrane,which creates microorganisms that  are beneficial to slow proliferation.For example,the environment in which nitrifying bacteria grow can improve the nitrification capacity of the system,and at the same time help to improve the processing efficiency of degradation-resistant macromolecular organic matter and promote its complete decomposition.
  6. The activated sludge of the MBR aeration tank will not be lost with the effluent.During the operation,the activated sludge will change due to the change in the concentration of the organic matter entering,and reach a dynamic balance,which makes the system outlet stable and with impact resistant load.
  7. Large hydraulic circulation leads to the uniform mixing of sewage,so that the activated sludge has good dispersibility and greatly increases the specific surface area of the activated sludge.The high degree of dispersion of activated sludge in the MBR system is another reason for improving the effectiveness of water treatment.This is difficult to compare with ordinary biological water treatment technology to form large micelles.
  8. Membrane bioreactor is easy to integrate,easy to   realize automatic control,and easy to operate and maintain.
  9. The MBR process omits the secondary setting tank and disinfection tank,reducing the occupied area.
